Do not attempt to adjust your screen. This really is a webcomic about a fat superheroine with impossibly large breasts.

Okay that’s a bit harsh, but that’s how a lot of people see it.

It was never my intention to make Blonde Marvel a “fat” super hero. I envisioned her as being voluptuous, with large tits and a big, curvaceous ass. Sort of like a young Dolly Parton with super powers. But many readers—fans and detractors alike—saw her as fat. What can ya do? Despite my protestations to the contrary, readers saw in the character what they wanted to see. And that’s their right. Sometimes characters represent different things to different readers, independent of what the author intended.

Nor was it my intent to  make her breasts “impossibly” large. I’ve read all sorts of commentary on her boobs, from “wouldn’t those things cause her back to ache?” to “how can she stand up straight? to “holy cow, nobody has breasts that big!” Of course, as a student, scholar and historian of large breasted women I can tell you that the Blonde Marvel’s boobs are indeed large but not “impossibly” large. And that there are women who have breasts “that big” and larger. You may have never seen any of these women. But then again, were you looking?

So what was this comic meant to be about? This is, after all, the “about” page.

The idea was to take a female character who is usually marginalized and who at best is relegated to “supporting character” status and give her the lead. Most super-women are young, single and supermodel thin. The Blonde Marvel however is in her late thirties, married with kids, and heavy. What would happen? How would society perceive her? How would her fellow heroes behave? What does her family have to say about the whole thing?

Well, that’s the premise. Whether or not I’m the right person to tell this story is debatable. Hell, I’m still learning to draw.
