Why would you be surfing the net at work anyway?
95% of my comics are nsfw. Maybe that’s why my stats are so low. People can’t browse them at work. And after all, people spend a third of their lives at work.
But I suspect that’s not the main reason. May have something to do with the quality of my work, or lack thereof.
Breast expansion is something I don’t usually draw, although occasionally I have. Exhibit A. Exhibit B. I once joined a BE forum, the overflowing forum to be exact, just to show off my artwork. Got the cold shoulder because mostly the art I posted had little to do with BE.
A lot of B but not enough E.
This is the first BE scene in the entire run of the comic. I’ve already been accused of being little more than a fetishist and here I am proving my detractors right.
I’ve often thought of making Blonde Marvel a BE comic. It would probably increase my readership because a lot of people enjoy BE. Of course if I really wanted more readers I’d scrap this comic entirely and draw a nice G rated gag-a-day strip about video gamers.
The reason I don’t make it a BE comic is that a) it would be dishonest on my part because I’m not really that big a fan of BE and 2) real fans of BE would tell soon enough that I was just going through the motions.I’d end up pissing off the same people I was trying to curry favor with.
About three years ago, after I got back from Iraq and before the current BM series really got going, I was kicking around the idea of making the Blonde Marvel very muscular, like She Hulk, Thundra or Dave Matthew’s character, Tetsuku. That’s also a very popular concept and I would have probably gotten a whole lotta readers behind that. But again: dishonesty. Comics and illustrations notwithstanding, I really don’t find muscle women attractive. Besides that, my pal Yak the Ripper would have disowned me.
One thing I never considered was having the Blonde Marvel become a “punishment” comic. This is where the heroine is beaten violently, humiliated, often raped. I used to have a subscription to superheroine central but I let it lapse because each storyline was exactly the same. The plucky, can-do superheroine is always captured, always tortured, always humiliated and always raped. Over and over without variation. The obvious question being: why would a woman continue being a crime fighter if rape and torture were always in her immediate future?
I don’t deny there’s something titillating about bondage and a little unwanted groping here and there. But I find consensual sex way more erotic than the stories they were trying to tell.
I just have a couple more pages of this story to go before it’s done. (I said that a couple of pages ago, didn’t I?)
Quite a bit of info, hon! First, I’d like to say I am very proud that you were protecting us 3 years plus ago & I will think of you specifically this November 11th–traditionally speaking of course. You are among many in my life (father, brother, hubby, uncle, nephew) who risked their life to protect the USA & if anyone thinks differently they might ponder how it would be if our asses were open 4 plunking…..politely worded. I dare say any Veteran of any war should be honored as heroes & this is coming from a teacher today, if anyone was curious to know if I was in the military myself.
Second, I am glad you are different in respect to the Blonde Marvel in both artwork & storyline. I concur wholeheartedly about the majority of most other comics being involved more so in sensationalism rather than good scenarios. 4 that we have the news which seems to deal mainly in sensational reports as opposed to day-to-day items which positively affects us & often presents us with the negative non-blue collar issues. hmm okay, only my opinion on that. However I am personally grateful 4 your ideas & artwork as a whole since it is more realistic in a sense of characters, family, etc. Thank you, Darrell, 4 the refreshing alternative to the simple WHAM BAM THANK YOU MA’AM stories we often see today in comics & cartoons supposedly meant 4 ‘children’ & their eyes & minds.
Third, as far as I am concerned, I look forward to your ‘few pages left’ since I consider BM like a fine wine, savoring the sips. So to coin a phrase from the 60′s: KEEP ON KEEPING ON!

You give us an insight about the personal sacrifices that you have done. Thats a wonderfull thing. From where I come from, there is only peace and serenity, off course sometimes with a bit of political and racism turmoil but generally we are fine, No Wars in my country. So to see someone who nearly gave up his/her life for some war it is a great thing indeed. Makes us feel that we are gifted and should never take things for granted. Okay now enuff with the Patriotic Thingy !!!
Back to my REAL BM based comments. Lord Darrel You show BE in a gr8 way. Now we gonna see some SMASHING, MASHING & SQUISHING if I hope it happens in the next couple of panels before the Sensational ending.
On another note, I guess BM & Bonita Appleheiney, ( hope i spelled it rite ) will do another Gr8 brawl. Hope I dont get Darrel too stereo type off course. But I guess since he did this BB Brawl comments were pouring in and views has been off the charts. So I guess, Darrell is really doin something good this time. So Lets hope we continue this good thing that we got going. Contributing artistes, comments from the same super-duper dudes, Ideas from me and Darrel’s FANTASIMO artworks as finishing. like Susan’s comment. YUP! LETS Keep the KEEP ON KEEPING ON !!!!

A MILF super heroine that fights robots, ninjas and other people’s characters, is an original concept. But BM goes beyond that because there’s a universe around her and it’s fun to see how she reacts to all kinds of crazy situations. You don’t need to dumb down what you’re doing because is too cheap to make characters with obsessions like breast expansion, muscles, weight gain or inflation just to please the reader. You have talent for writing and this fact set you apart from other artists.
Ued is right! Blonde Marvel is an attractive character! Show us Blonde Marvel and her world. She should be the focus of the stories. Let the villains be weird, if you like. But some can also be banal small-timers. The main thing is, show us Blonde Marvel. Develop her character, not her body. Her body is fine as is!
I’m a big fan of your art and storytelling styles, and also a big fan of BE. So I greatly appreciate stuff like this, even if you only do it rarely. Keep making comics that YOU enjoy and the quality will shine through. If you start making stuff you dislike or don’t enjoy, it will be obvious. I would rather see sporadic BE content from an artist who’s having fun with it, than regular BE content who isn’t.
(I love how Veronica is hefting her boobs in the fourth panel, and the strain on her face as she struggles with the weight!)
I’m not big into the breast expansion thing either. Don’t know why. I guess titties are good as is, why blow them up??? To each their own.

The thing is, you have the formula here. Nothing needs changing, nothing needs to be tweaked. Blonde Marvel fills a void. A busty bbw super heroine. There. That’s it. The art is good getting better all the time, the stories are fun, and the writing is excellent. It’s got GOOD humor and TITTIES….what in the fuck else is there in life?

Lavaboyz…we have talked about a team up some time in the future. I think it’ll happen someday. But I don’t think a fight…maybe them kicking some one elses ass. But who knows, they live on opposite ends of the “law”.
A team up sounds great & I wish I could help with this though my artistic ability is equal to my auto mechanic ability: other than putting gas in the tank & taking it in 4 servicing I couldn’t tell you what a carberator does or catalytic converter (names I heard my uncle use). What I can tell you is the truly wonderful job Darrell is doing with his uniquely fantastic Blonde Marvel artwork and storylines and I must say that I’m hooked on this “GOOD humor and TITTIES” comic (Ok I have to ask, Yak: monkeys?) Anyway, from a woman’s point of view this is a terrific exciting scenario in more ways than one & it’s tastefully done as opposed to other comics where sex & violence run rampart @ the expense of a decent story. What attracts me is the humanity of this family oriented superheroine with real life problems, triumphs & her TLC 4 family & Life as a whole. I found it intriguing when she was obviously excited with the DOMME because any woman, no matter how happily married she may be, has fantasies that may not include her hubby (sorry guys!) and though not tempted to the point of unfaithfulness, her erogenous zones were in high gear (which immensely benefited Harold that evening…..ski mask & all). So even super empowered married moms are not immune to temptations. Controllable? Maybe but 4 how long? I am smiling here thinking of so many possibilities though a cliche comes to my mind: SO MANY MEN, SO LITTLE TIME. In this case, there is not enough hours in the day 4 all the many scenarios in our minds, yet what we do have is the superb talent & dedication of the D-Man who handles the amazing complex world of our Blonde Marvel. Bill, UED, Lavaboyz, Yak & myself as well as the many quiet admirers out here all greatly respect & follow you, Darrell, & since it was said earlier, nothing needs to be changed. “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.” Susan

First of all, thank you so much for the work you’ve put into this comic, and for sharing it with us. Though I’m a fan of BE myself, I don’t think you need to cater to any particular fetish for this thing to work. Blonde Marvel is one of the most realistic characters I’ve seen in a long while, at least in terms of depth and character development. Yeah, sure, I love seeing the titties, but it’s great to see a superheroine who’s not just a walking cliche (big boobs, kicks ass). Her relationship with her husband and family is especially interesting for me.
Keep doing what you love to do, and stay true to yourself. (No to “punishment” comics!) You’ve got a fan in me. Excellent work!
